Now in her 13th season as a member of LAMC, Cynthia Marty has had the privilege of singing at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl under many conductors of renown, first and foremost Grant Gershon and Gustavo Dudamel with the LA Philharmonic, as well as Esa-Pekka Salonen. Her versatility has provided opportunities to perform the music and words of countless composers and lyricists from a variety of genres: from Hildegard von Bingen to Beethoven to George and Ira Gershwin to Stephen Sondheim and John Williams – sacred and secular choral music, orchestral masterpieces, Broadway musicals, film scores, opera, jazz and the American Popular Songbook. Originally from Wisconsin, she was awarded a full scholarship to UW-Madison where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance.
Also an actor, Cindy has shared the stage with Julie Andrews, Sally Struthers, Reneé Fleming, John Schneider and Robert Goulet. She recently learned to play the accordion for the Tony-winning musical ONCE, staged for the first time in the round. Other theatre includes SWEENEY TODD; SOUND OF MUSIC; HELLO, DOLLY!; GUYS AND DOLLS; LEND ME A TENOR; ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST; CAMELOT; MUSIC MAN; MY FAIR LADY and KISS ME, KATE opposite her favorite leading man, husband Greg Zerkle North. Ms. Marty can be seen on screen in An Evening With Alan Jay Lerner for Great Performances-PBS; Surviving Christmas; Gift of the Magi; Christmas With the Kranks; and Verdi Messa Da Requiem - Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic.
She has recorded with All Saints Beverly Hills, St. Bartholomew’s NYC; LAMC: Górecki Miserere, 50th Season Celebration, Festival of Carols, and a selection of film soundtracks: Shaggy Dog, Godzilla, Big Hero 6, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Despicable Me 2, Romeo & Juliet, Hail, Caesar!, and Smallfoot. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA and American Guild of Musical Artists.
